Service Level Agreement (SLA)

This Agreement (“the Agreement”) is made between:

Science Café Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 09081468, with its registered office at Ramscroft Stables, Chalk Lane, Withern, LN13 0LQ (“the Service Provider”),

and

You, the User or Client (“the Customer”), together referred to as “the Parties”.

Effective Date: Upon first use of the Science Café Ltd Website or upon placing an order for Services.

1. Contract Term & Subscription Options

1.1 The Customer may subscribe to one of the following monthly plans:

Essential Plan: £18 per month

VIP Package: £58 per month

1.2 Subscriptions operate on a rolling monthly basis and will automatically renew each month unless cancelled in accordance with this Agreement.

1.3 Billing dates are calculated from the original sign-up date and recur monthly.

1.4 The Agreement becomes effective upon first payment and access to the Service.

2. Cancellation Policy

2.1 The Customer may cancel their subscription at any time.

2.2 To prevent the next payment being taken, the Customer must provide at least 2 days’ notice prior to the next billing date.

2.3 Cancellation requests must be submitted via:

2.4 If cancellation is requested less than 2 days before the next billing date, the next payment may still be taken. The subscription will then continue until the end of that paid billing period and will not renew thereafter.

3. Refund Policy

3.1 No refunds will be issued once a payment has been successfully processed.

3.2 This includes:

Partial months

Unused time within a billing period

Early cancellation within a paid month

3.3 The Customer will retain access to the Service until the end of the current paid billing period.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Payments are billed monthly in advance.

4.2 Access to services is granted only once payment has been successfully received.

4.3 If a payment fails:

Access may be suspended until payment is resolved.

4.4 All prices are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.

5. Cooling-Off Period (UK/EU Customers)

5.1 Customers have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase.

5.2 By accessing digital content within this period, the Customer acknowledges and agrees to waive their right to cancel.

5.3 Once content has been accessed, the Agreement becomes binding and no refunds will be issued.

6. General Terms

6.1 All content remains the intellectual property of Science Café Ltd and is for personal use only.

6.2 Science Café Ltd does not guarantee specific academic outcomes or exam results.

6.3 Liability is limited to the total fees paid in the previous 12 months.

6.4 This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

7. Data Protection & Confidentiality

7.1 Science Café Ltd processes personal data in compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The Privacy Policy (available at www.sciencecafe.co.uk/privacypolicy) is integral to this Agreement.

7.2 Any confidential information exchanged between the Parties must be protected and not disclosed to third parties unless required by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Science Café Ltd does not guarantee specific academic outcomes or exam results from use of the materials.

8.2 The Service Provider is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.

8.3 The maximum liability for direct losses is capped at the total subscription fees paid under this Agreement in the 12 months prior to the claim.

9. Termination & Suspension

9.1 Science Café Ltd may terminate or suspend access immediately (for the remainder of the Subscription Term) if the Customer:

Commits a material breach of this Agreement.

Fails to make payments as required.

Misuses the resources or violates intellectual property rights.

9.2 In the absence of early termination, this Agreement expires automatically at the end of the selected Subscription Term.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

11.1 This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

11.2 The Parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11.3 Disputes shall first be addressed via Science Café Ltd’s internal complaints process before legal proceedings.

12. Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the Parties and supersedes all prior negotiations, communications, or agreements (oral or written).

Understand this is a rolling monthly subscription

Agree to the 2-day cancellation notice requirement

Accept that no refunds are provided once payment is made
