Service Level Agreement (SLA)

This Agreement (“the Agreement”) is made between:

Science Café Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number [insert], with its registered office at Ramscroft Stables, Chalk Lane, Withern, LN13 0LQ (“the Service Provider”),

and

You, the User or Client (“the Customer”), together referred to as “the Parties”.

Effective Date: Upon first use of the Science Café Ltd Website or upon placing an order for Services.

1. Contract Term & Subscription Options

1.1 The Customer may select one of several fixed-term subscription plans: 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, or 12 months (collectively, “Subscription Term”).

1.2 The Subscription Term is fixed from the Effective Date (subject to the statutory 14-day cooling-off period).

1.3 Regardless of the duration chosen, payments must be made in one of two schemes (see Section 4).

2. Purpose and Scope

2.1 The purpose of this Agreement is to set out the access, rights, obligations, and services provided by Science Café Ltd, ensuring clarity for both Parties.

2.2 This Agreement covers access to GCSE science digital resources, support, and related services delivered via www.sciencecafe.co.uk and its subdomains (“the Website”).

3. Programme Description & Access

3.1 By subscribing, the Customer obtains access (for the selected Subscription Term) to:

Digital GCSE science revision resources, masterclasses, and materials via the Website.

Any supplementary content, updates, or enhancements released within the subscription period.

Customer support via email ([email protected]).

Any additional benefits or bonuses advertised at time of purchase.

3.2 Access begins only once the first payment (or full payment, if chosen) is successfully processed.

4. Payment

4.1 Payment Options
For any selected Subscription Term (3, 6, 9, or 12 months), the Customer may choose:

Monthly Payments: Spread evenly across the Subscription Term (e.g. for a 3-month plan, pay monthly over 3 months; for 6-month, over 6 months; etc.). Payments remain due each month irrespective of usage.

One-Time Payment (Upfront): The full fee for the Subscription Term is paid in one lump sum at the start.

4.2 Pricing (Illustrative)
Essential Package Monthly:

£11.95/month (on 12 monthly plan), £13.95/month (on 9 monthly plan), £15.95/month (on 6 monthly plan), £18.95/month (on 3 monthly plan)

VIP Package Monthly:

£44.95/month (on 12 monthly plan), £49.95/month (on 9 monthly plan), £57.95/month (on 6 monthly plan), £65.95/month (on 3 monthly plan)

Upfront (One-time payment) discounts:

Essential Package £125 (one-time 12 Months), Essential Package £115 (one-time 9 Months), Essential Package £80 (one-time 6 Months), Essential Package £50 (one-time 3 Months)

VIP Package £499 (one-time 12 Months), VIP Package £409 (one-time 9 Months), VIP Package £329 (one-time 6 Months), VIP Package £189 (one-time 3 Months),

4.3 Best Value Option
The 12-month upfront (one-time) payment option is the best value and is strongly encouraged for customers who anticipate full-year benefits.

4.4 Payment Methods & Conditions

Payment may be made via debit/credit card, PayPal, or bank transfer.

Access to content is withheld until payment is confirmed.

In the event of failed payments, the Service Provider reserves the right to suspend access until payment is resolved.

All prices are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.

5. Cooling-Off and Refund Policy

5.1 Customers based in the UK/EU have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

5.2 If the Customer accesses digital content within this period, they acknowledge that the right to cancel is forfeited and the Agreement becomes binding immediately.

5.3 After the cooling-off period, no refunds or cancellations are permitted for the remainder of the chosen Subscription Term.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 All Website content, resources, and materials are the property of Science Café Ltd or its licensors.

6.2 The Customer is granted a single-user, non-transferable licence for personal educational use only.

6.3 Copying, redistribution, sharing, or reproduction (in whole or part) is prohibited without prior written permission from Science Café Ltd.

7. Data Protection & Confidentiality

7.1 Science Café Ltd processes personal data in compliance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The Privacy Policy (available at www.sciencecafe.co.uk/privacypolicy) is integral to this Agreement.

7.2 Any confidential information exchanged between the Parties must be protected and not disclosed to third parties unless required by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Science Café Ltd does not guarantee specific academic outcomes or exam results from use of the materials.

8.2 The Service Provider is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.

8.3 The maximum liability for direct losses is capped at the total subscription fees paid under this Agreement in the 12 months prior to the claim.

9. Termination & Suspension

9.1 Science Café Ltd may terminate or suspend access immediately (for the remainder of the Subscription Term) if the Customer:

Commits a material breach of this Agreement.

Fails to make payments as required.

Misuses the resources or violates intellectual property rights.

9.2 In the absence of early termination, this Agreement expires automatically at the end of the selected Subscription Term.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

11.1 This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

11.2 The Parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11.3 Disputes shall first be addressed via Science Café Ltd’s internal complaints process before legal proceedings.

12. Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the Parties and supersedes all prior negotiations, communications, or agreements (oral or written).
